Having a beer with friends is normal but once someone starts throwing up you know they have had too much.

Nobody wants to go cold turkey but the tips below will make you have a better time when you are under the influence.

  • Remember to have some food with your drinks, adding more mixers can help too. 
  • Try having a little less or having it a little slower.
  • Stick with friends when you are out.
  • Keep some spare money for a taxi.
  • Tell someone where you are going.

Watch out for anxiety, losing touch with reality and hearing voices

 

 

Is it affecting your relationship with your family, friends or partner?

Are you doing dangerous things like having unsafe sex, dangerous driving or being around criminal activity?

Try recording how much you are actually drinking or using. Are you surprised by the result?

Will a criminal record affect what you want to do in the future? It might stop you travelling overseas.

Will you still be able to get into the job or course you want if your using is causing you to miss school?
