Trauma-informed care is a term used to describe a practice and framework that aims to increase the focus on identifying trauma in people who come in to contact with social services. It's about understanding the impact of trauma on behaviour and ensuring that agencies working with young people and adults minimise the potential to re-traumatise them, as well as address their trauma needs.
This workshop provides foundation training and development for the children's workforce and caregivers of children/mokopuna to raise awareness of trauma-informed care within Aotearoa New Zealand.
Participants will be expected to complete an e-learning module prior to the workshop.
An agenda for the day will follow soon
